Soft drink Companies are Providing College Scholarships

By Fae Esperas - Apr 2, 2008

Do you know that your favorite beverage might just be your ticket to a college degree? Yes, you've heard it right. Two of the biggest soft drink companies,Coca-Cola and Pepsi, have once again opened their doors to help graduating high school students with their educational needs through scholarship grants.

The Coca-Cola Company
has been helping out almost 600 students each year through the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation. Established in 1986, the Foundation has been providing scholarship grants to outstanding high school seniors across the United States to aid their tuition and other educational expenses. There are two kinds of scholarship grants under the Foundation: The Coca-Cola Two-Year Colleges Scholarship Program, which is given to 350 students who are planning to take a 2-year college degree; and The Coca-Cola Scholars Program, which is awarded to 350 incoming college freshmen.

Learn more about the different scholarship grants you can qualify for.

Pepsi Co.
, meanwhile, is as well on the lookout for outstanding high school seniors who can qualify for their scholarship grants. The Pepsi Scholarship Program is giving away scholarships to students who are planning to take up degrees under the Math and Sciences, Engineering, Public Relations and Marketing. Pepsi Co. has also made tie-ups with various colleges and universities across the United States in order to provide these scholarships.

These two soft drink giants may always be the ones ending up head-to-head in the business, but they both believe that America's future lies in the hands of the youth. Thus they can only do one thing: provide American students the best in their educational needs.
