Legoland Discovery Center in Schuamburg challenges sports clubs to test their team spirit
By Dave Tug - May 24, 2010
One local hockey team and one local baseball team will advance to the playoffs - a face off of aspiring athletes using LEGO bricks to 'build' team spirit, creativity and cooperation. Through a series of grueling sports-themed challenges, culminating in a giant mosaic building showdown, one team will emerge victorious and walk away with a trophy made of LEGO bricks.
Ben Sweet, General Manager at LEGOLAND Discovery Center, said: "Being a LEGOLAND Discovery Center team player won't be as simple as just being able to follow instructions to build a great model."
"It's about coming together to use your team spirit to be able to build quickly and accurately, no matter how limited your selection of bricks. And we want to test Chicagoland's sports competitiveness to find the best local team out there."
Entries can be submitted online at the LEGOLAND Discovery Center's website or Facebook Fan Page. All contest entries will be posted on the Master Model Builder's blog online and around the LEGOLAND Discovery Center in Schaumburg and the best teams from each sport will go forward to the playoff.
