Hitting the “effective” zone in poster printing can be tough. Some people will fail, succeed and fail again with poster designs because of incoherent and mostly ineffective methods of poster printing and composition. To always be consistent and produce and effective color poster design, you need to adhere to a few basic guiding principles. Here are five that should be quite easy for everyone to follow.

• A straight forward layout – Never get too complicated with your layout. You might think it is cool to do something odd complex and abstract, but only the more deep thinking audience will get the message. For an effective mass market color poster it is best to stick to something straightforward and easy to understand. So even if you have an urge to do some abstract impressionism in your poster designs, try to stop yourself. Try something that is simple but is still original and beautiful enough to be memorable.

• Always have a center piece – You should always have a central symbol or image with each poster. This will be the symbol that immediately attaches to people’s memories. So make the center piece quite large and of course eye catching. Posters with center pieces always have a big chance with getting remembered, while posters with no truly central object or theme is in danger of being forgotten. So think up a center piece that will be quite impressive.

• Have only one big title – It is also important to always have only one big title or tagline. Some people try to add in other titles and explanations with the title. While this can clarify what the poster is all about, it also makes it harder for people to remember the poster later. So it is best to only use titles with one or two words only when possible and nothing else.

• Always add printing bleeds and guide lines – If you want your poster printing to always go without any errors, it is important to always add printing bleeds and guidelines. These help the printers produce the color posters with a little margin for error. The guidelines should help you to not place objects beyond the dimensions while the printing bleeds help the printers cut the color posters with some buffer space.

• Always save a template of your works – Finally, you should always save a template of your poster works. You never know when you might want to just refurbish an old idea anew. That template can virtually help you cut the effort in half. So keep an archive of our poster templates and you’ll be able to use them for further poster printing in the future. Those future color posters should be equally effective as well.

So that is how you can try to print posters that are always effective all the time. Do these practices regularly and you’ll have effective posters consistently for your marketing campaigns.
