Some ballerina's are so graceful that their movements are considered to be poetry in motion. The slight dip at the waist is a silent communiqu to another that they recognize their presence and are giving them a greeting.

Most poets today write free verse which is open to pattern and is recognized as nonconforming and rhyme less verse. Metrical verse relies on stanza length combined with meter or rhyme patterns distinct to itself.
